Today we were greeted warmly by Google with a new gift - google www.drben.net site-search !! With this new built-in search tool it is now possible to search within our entire site for the information you were looking for. Just use the search box and you will see. Amazing addition !! Don't we love the techies that come up with all this handy stuff ? Pfew- they are almost to fast too keep up with... We are spreading the search box on strategic positions around our site. When you find a site-error, look for the new search box on the left top of the site-error page.

To our Great Frustration site-building was unexpectedly interrupted by a software update from our host - Homestead. Normally I am extatically happy about using their program to build and host our site, but ... yes, these -out of the blue- updates can be annoying. With the last update already wiping out half of the 21 pages describing Tiantan Park (Tiantan GongYuan), we had mixed feelings about this latest great news. Turn out we were right with our uncomfortable feeling... We are sorry to have to announce most site-building has been halted untill the homestead technical crew fixes a crippling problem. (Help!!) The problem is that pages we upload to the internet land their half erased. Obviously this is no good. For a demonstration of the Carnage this time - CLICK HERE. When the Map is back on this Page that means the problem has been Fixed.

Meanwhile, we will start repairing and updating menu's to all reports, then later other various pages. Repairing our Menu's used to be a boring task and is the thus long overdue. However, no longer a big problem with Xara Webstyle 4. Making menu's and uploading them still costs considerable time, but .. at least they show up looking nice. Very Nice !! Let's make this website more efficient ! New Menu's Coming ! First reports slated for new style are - Underground City ( Beijing Di Xia Cheng ), TianNing Temple Pagoda and the Ancient Observatory, jewel of Ming Dynasty scientific achievement. All 3 are previous small and completed introductory Reports.

On with the Show, I say.. - Fixing these menu's will keep us busy untill the techincal glitsch has been solved.

I just had a quick surf using Google's latest search option: google weblog (Blog) search, tapping directly into all worldwide blogs. Of course my first search was on China, immediatly coming across Rebecca MacKinnon, known to most of us from CNN. Strange ! Odd! Last time I saw her was on CNN while i was in Beijing, with Rebecca taking part in a (Live?) discussion on Blogging. Viewing this was more or less my main reason to surf this new Google service at all !

Anyways- Blogs are a very interesting extra tool to websites, as I am experiencing myself. Not only a great online diary, but in some ways a true replacement of real websites, as Rebecca and others are showing Online now.

I shall have to stick to websites for sure, as this is the best option to keep extensive photo-reports online. However, i have been inspired to learn and do more with the very promising Blogs. I now feel as if Rebecca herself has blessed my endeavour.  I sorta wish I was the Guy on this Photo, haha !
